What follows is the most simple of instructions
in what's involved in building an xSitePro Wesbite. The aim is
to show you just how simple the whole process is. But at the
same time, like everything else in Website design, you will
need to understand some HTML code, and that, I promise you, is
not all that difficult.
Step 1:
Simply open up your Xsitepro softw areand select
"Add Project." Give your new project an
easy-to-understand name, and click OK. You can add add a
description to your project, add keywords, and any other notes
that you'd like to add.
Step 2:Now highlight
your new project and select “Add web site,†and choose
from four different types of layour for your new site.
These can include: 1. a blank web page, 2. a graphical
sales letter, 3. a sales letter and, 4. an affiliate
Website. After you select your choice, you will be
presented with multiple choice of Xsitepro templates,
from whichto choose.
Step
3:
In this example I will be using a blank Web page. After
selecting that option, you simply give the page a name, and
then you have the option of providing the following web page
details, title, description, keywords, author, copyright and
other notes. Paying attention to getting this done well, at
this stage, will provide handsome dividends later on, as you'll
learn. However, if you're in a hurry at this stage, you can
proceed without filling out this information, and return to it
later on.
Step 4:Across the
top of your console, you will see the following tabs:
WEBSITE INFORMATION, PAGE
LAYOUT, WEB PAGES,
OTHER, and PUBLISHING
DETAILS. Next, select the WEB
PAGES tab. This is the page from which we
can add new pages, product pages, article pages, external
links or simply import multiple pages into the xSitePro
system. It is entirely possible to create a 1,000 page
Website by simple importing your keyword list via the
multiple page option. Xsitepro will even capitalise the
words if you choose to include them on your navigation
bar.
Step 5:
When you create a page, you have the option of checking a
box which will tell the software whether you wish that page to
appear on the navigation bar, the main panel footer, the page
footer or the site-map. For the actual page content, you can
choose a traditional HTML view, or you may prefer the WYSIWYG
(what-you-see-is-what-you-get) Design view, which is similar to
a word processor. If you have content in other programs, you
can simply cut and paste into your page. xSitePro has been
designed, as its developer, Paul Smithson, says, so that even a
complete novice, without an ounce of knowledge of HTML or Web
design, can build their first fully functioning,
search-engine-ready website in less than an hour. While this
claim is largely true, my experience has been that you will
need to have an understanding of how HTML really works, for
those rare occasions when you'll have to make a manual
correction to a problem that xSitePro cannot handle. For
this reason we provide a simple, free, yet powerful HTML course
that you can quickly work through to help you solve those pesky
problems that you'll occasionally encounter.
Step
6:
Once you have created your pages, you can include your Adsense
code or other affiliate links such as a link to the
NetSellingSecrets.com.au referral program, or to Amazon. In
Xsitepro, this is so easy Just right-click, and you gain access
to a powerful drop-down menu that enables you to quickly add
the required links. Once you have added, previously, your
Adsense and affiliate link information to the program, you
simply right click and “Add Adsense Code†or "Add
Snippet."
Step 7:
After your site has been developed to your satisafction, and
it has content and links, you might well be ready to upload
your site to your Web host. Again, in xSitePro, this is very
easy. Before Xsitepro came along you had to master the
intricacies of a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) program, but this
is no longer necessary because the software includes a built-in
FTP program that is so easy to use, you'll laugh.
To upload a site, click on the PUBLISHING DETAILStab, and in
the dialog box, enter your domain name, home directory, FTP
Server, username and password, information which will have been
provided to you by your Web-Hosting company. Once entered, you
select "Tools" and "Publish." That's it, your site begins to
upload and you'll be online shortly.
